About the Artist
Piper Talladay is a contemporary realist painter currently residing in Tacoma, Washington, working with clients across the United States. Her work is centered around equine portraiture, rendered in oil. Her desire to pursue the long-established practice of portraiture has lead to her unique voice in bringing traditional portraiture into modernity. Also a life long equestrian, Talladay specializes in equine and animal portraiture, understanding and aptly expressing the unique bond between horse and rider.
Talladay attended the College of New Jersey, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. She was a member of Kappa Pi, an international art fraternity and has studied technical drawing at the Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy.
In addition to her own work, Talladay is head instructor at Evolve Artist, an online academy that trains students around the world in traditional oil painting.
Artistic influences upon the artist are John Singer Sargent, Susan Crawford, and Rosa Bonheur.
